Hi dearest readers ;)

Today is Orange Day.
Take action to Orange your day on Tuesday, July 25th 2017 !!!
This Orange Day, 25 July 2017, the UNiTE Campaign focuses on  Cyber Violence against Girls.

Girls and boys, including adolescents, are increasingly spending more time online and start using the Internet at younger ages than ever before 1. Although girls’ and boys’ access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) remains dominant in high-income countries, the rapid expansion of affordable, accessible Internet through mobile technologies in low- and middle-income countries is bringing more children to the Internet worldwide.

ICTs bring tremendous benefits to children, providing access to information, education, entertainment and social networks that broaden their horizons and stimulate their creativity. However, at the same time they can reinforce inequities among children and lead to harmful consequences and risks to their safety, personal development and well-being.

Although children have long been exposed to violence and exploitation, ICTs have changed the scale, form, impact and opportunity for the abuse of children everywhere. While both girls and boys are vulnerable to the different risks and harms related to the misuse of ICTs, girls have been disproportionately victimized in sexual abuse and exploitation through the production and distribution of child sexual abuse materials. In 2013, 81 per cent of child sexual abuse materials depicted girls. 2.
Girls are also particularly vulnerable to being groomed online for sexual encounters and sometimes exploited through live streaming of their sexual abuse. Many children are experiencing widespread victimization through online bullying, harassment, and intimidation, where girls are particularly targeted due to gender norms and power dynamics. Gender discrimination, lack of confidence, difficulty with language, poverty, and cultural factors can adversely affect girls and lead to their heightened vulnerability to these crimes and victimization.

SDG 5 on Gender Equality places women’s access to technological empowerment as one of the core indicators for progress. To achieve this goal, we must make sure that the internet will be a safe and more secure place that allows all women and girls to fulfil their potential as valued members of society and live a life free from violence.

What is Orange Day ?

The UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE to End Violence against Women campaign, managed by UN Women, has proclaimed every 25th of the month as “Orange Day” – a day to take action to raise awareness and prevent violence against women and girls.
Initiated and led by the UNiTE campaign Global Youth Network, Orange Day calls upon activists, governments and UN partners to mobilize people and highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls, not only once a year, on 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women), but every month.

Global Partnership for Education (GPE) - The only global fund solely dedicated to education in developing countries

Global Partnership for Education (GPE) - The only global fund solely dedicated to education in developing countries
The Global Partnership for Education is the only global fund solely dedicated to education in developing countries. Supported by Ronald Tintin, Super Professeur : mobile.superprofesseur.com, https://www.superprofesseur.fr, Ronning Against Cancer. mobile.superprofesseur.com, http://mobile.ronningagainstcancer.xyz  and Ronning Against Cancer

The Global Partnership for Education is the only global fund solely dedicated to education in developing countries.
The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is a multi-stakeholder partnership and funding platform that galvanizes global and national support for education in developing countries, focusing on the poorest and most vulnerable children and youth. It is the only global partnership entirely focused on education in developing countries. Almost 50% of GPE’s funding supports countries affected by fragility and conflict.
Established in 2002, GPE brings together 60+ developing country governments, 20+ donors, international organizations, civil society, teacher organizations, the private sector and philanthropy to improve the lives of children and youth through quality education for all. Since 2003, GPE has allocated more than US$4.6 billion to partner developing countries to strengthen education systems — improving access to schools, the quality of education, equity in learning and data collection.
GPE 2020, the partnership’s strategic plan for 2016–2020, aligns GPE’s vision and mission to the Global Goal for education. Progress is tracked and measured in a comprehensive results framework, holding all GPE partners to account.

What we do

We build stronger education systems
GPE supports developing country governments to develop good quality education sector plans. Governments take the lead in planning and are accountable for delivery; GPE enables needs analysis, works to strengthen technical capacity, and brings in the talent and resources of all partners.
We support countries with the greatest needs, and the children and youth most often left behind
GPE supports nations with high numbers of out-of-school children and weak school completion rates. Also, GPE focuses on reaching the children that are most marginalized and vulnerable including girls, children with disabilities, and those who live in countries that are characterized by extreme poverty and/or conflict. Almost 50% of GPE funds go to countries affected by fragility and conflict.
We mobilize more financing for education
GPE mobilizes financing from public and private sources around the world and encourages developing country partners to provide sufficient domestic financing for basic education. In the last 10 years, GPE directly invested more than US$4.7 billion in education in developing countries. Also, GPE grants strengthen education systems to improve equity, quality, and learning, with 30% paid only if specific targets are reached.
We bridge the gap between crisis and development
When countries become unstable, GPE can adapt its approach and allow more flexibility and a faster response to address urgent needs. We aim to have education services restored as quickly as possible while laying the foundation to meet longer-term educational goals.
We share knowledge of what works
GPE enables developing countries to address common education challenges through learning from each other, strengthening technical capacity, and accessing the best technical expertise.

Happy 4th of July (Independence Day in the United States of America) to American people all over the world.

Have a great Tuesday, July 4th 2017 !!! ;)

From Super Professeur, Ronald Tintin and the project “Ronning Against Cancer”

History of the Fourth of July

Variously known as the Fourth of July and Independence Day, July 4th has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution (1775-1783). In June 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies then fighting in the revolutionary struggle weighed a resolution that would declare their independence from Great Britain. On July 2nd, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later its delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 until the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with typical festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.
